Released in February 2026, Heaven Hill Deatsville 13-Year-Old Bourbon Whiskey is made from the distillery’s traditional mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley. The limited release was drawn from just 17 barrels aged on the third floor of Rickhouse AA at Heaven Hill’s historic Deatsville campus, which Heaven Hill said it would transition out of active aging within the next 12 to 24 months after this bourbon's release. Bottled at 54.5% ABV, or 109 proof, the bourbon carries a suggested retail price of $199.99.

  • This is spectacular, truly special bourbon. It has the sort of milkshake-thick viscosity that I only come across maybe two or three times a year, the flavor profile is a caramel apple bomb and a lovely balance of oak, sweet and tart. An easy contender for bourbon of the year.

  • There’s an immediate butterscotch and peanut brittle sweetness on the nose in this whiskey, something I wouldn’t immediately connote with Heaven Hill, which classically tends toward more charry, rye-forward aromatics.

  • Nose:

Bright, sweet nose full of honeycrisp apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, graham cracker, butterscotch and damp oak.

  • Taste:

Spectacular, velvety, uber thick viscosity. Delicious palate full of caramel apple, custard and oak. Surrounding that core profile is cocoa powder, peanut brittle, tea, black cherry, raspberry, cinnamon and clove.

  • Finish:

The finish opens with clove, cardamom, lime zest, cinnamon and pepper. From there it moves into oak, lemon candies, raspberries and honey.

  • Overall:

This is spectacular, truly special bourbon. It has the sort of milkshake-thick viscosity that I only come across maybe two or three times a year, the flavor profile is a caramel apple bomb and a lovely balance of oak, sweet and tart. An easy contender for bourbon of the year. This will be a tough one to find in the wild, but if you do, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
