Great Jones Distillery, Manhattan's first legal distillery since Prohibition, produces this 4-year-old straight bourbon whiskey using a mashbill of New York-grown corn, malted barley and rye.
Overall, Great Jones bourbon isn’t terribly exciting but it’s an exceptional start for a brand new producer. They seem to have avoided the lions share of pitfalls that often hamper a new brand, and I greatly look forward to seeing Great Jones continue on their trajectory to become an enviable producer in New York.

House Review
Nose:
Sweet and perfume forward on the nose: a good deal of honey, lavender, a touch of sesame and some pepper.
Taste:
Thin on the palate, but pleasant overall. Not terribly complex. Notes of honey, almond, light oak, some red berries and a touch of pepper.
Finish:
Short finish. It’s a bit hotter here on the finish than you’d expect for 43% ABV. Almond, honey, pepper, some toffee and a hint of oak once more.
