Distilled in 1998 by Glengoyne, this sherry cask offering was dumped after 19 years of aging in European oak sherry cask #1921 and bottled at cask strength without any coloring or filtering.
Overall, this is dry for how sherried I expected it but…I’m into it. Excellent juxtaposition here that works well to give this an edge against being too heavily sherried.

House Review
Nose:
Jammy and powerful on the nose. Cocoa, toffee, stewed fruits and oak are prominent. Some bite of ethanol.
Taste:
Tart at first on the palate, before the ABV catches up. A bit of heat. Sulfur, cherry cordials, stewed fruits, currants, jam and some pepper. Medium mouth feel, tannins in check.
Finish:
Long finish, dry and jammy. Pepper, tobacco, tannins and cocoa covered cherries is big here.
