  • It’s a tasty, simple, sherried highland single malt that comes together nicely and I’m really glad I picked it up. A good straightforward daily drinker.

  • Coconut and heather join the club with the caramel and cereal. The finish isn't a marathon runner, but it's hardly Usain Bolt.

  • Not sure what to think. It’s very rustic malt whisky, I would say, more rustic than it used to be in any case.

  • This is a perfect “everyday” dram — not overwhelming, but with enough nuance to merit continued exploration — and affordable.

  • Short but simple. It's not trying to be something its not. chocolate, some spice and lots of fruity sherry sweet. I like it.

  • Nose:

Grapes, sherry and sweet icing sweetness. Some vanilla and spice.

  • Taste:

Caramel, red fruit. Mostly plumb and grape but there's almost some dark chocolate raspberry in there as well. Some leather, allspice and dark chocolate.

  • Finish:

Short but simple. Its not trying to be something its not. chocolate, some spice and lots of fruity sherry sweet. I like it.

  • Overall:

It's no GlenDronach 12, but it doesn't have to be. Its a delicious introduction to the Glenfarclas line all the same.
