  • Overall, this was a steal for $80 and demonstrates some of the best notes I’ve had from a Glen Scotia to date. High marks all around.

  • The ABV is perfectly judged here, delivering sweetness, smoke and maritime affections in a very harmonious manner.

  • Nose:

Jammy and enticing on the nose. Strawberry jam, sweet cream, bright cherry, currant, blackberry notes. Sweet pie filling. Light pepper, some dank peat notes.

  • Taste:

Jammy and rich on the palate. Dram starts sweet, fruity, dessert forward. Apple pie, cherry, lingonberry, syrupy. Rich mouth feel, no heat. Then the peat kicks in. Earthy, peaty, mineral forward. Glen Scotia peat is among my favorite and this mossy wine monster is no different.

  • Finish:

Long, rich finish. Imposing and bold, sweet and desserty. A pairing of wine and peat here that could rival some of the better Cairdeas vintages. Pepper, mossy and mineral forward peat. Wine and jammy dessert pairs perfectly with some ash and smoke.
