  • Nose:

Sweet and powerfully dessert. Nougaty, rich, creamy. Lovely dessert notes all over the nose.

  • Taste:

Rich again on the palate. Peach, pear, blueberry before an onslaught of spicy complexity and pure dessert. Rye spice, some clove, bright peppery complexity. Brown sugar and a hint of cocoa on the back palate. Stewed fruits.

  • Finish:

Long finish. Rich brown sugar, toffee, a bit of char.

  • Overall:

Batch 10 from Four Gate is decadent, complex and rife with rye complexity from start to finish.
