Distilled by Benrinnes and bottled by James Eadie, this single cask of scotch whiskey was matured in ex-bourbon and then finished in a PX cask #354550, before being bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering.
Rich cream, toffee, caramel and cocoa. Some cherry, blackberry, fig. Not too hot, spicy or tannic - just a nice combination of lush Benrinnes base malt and gentle sherry.
Finish:
Short finish, a bit of heat. Orange marmalade, toffee and a hint of coffee.
Overall:
A really interesting transition from nose to finish. Some hits, some misses, it’s a really good pour but not a deep love for me.
