Forty Creek Barrel Select is a blended Canadian whisky made at the Forty Creek Distillery in Grimsby, Ontario. It combines rye, barley and corn whiskies that are distilled and aged separately, then blended and finished in sherry casks. It's bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $19 to $25.

  • The Forty Creek crosses the palate with a light sweetness of caramel and butterscotch. It is heated as well with orange peel and wood spices as well as some unwanted alcohol astringency and winding grain spice. Fruity notes of canned apricots come forward as does a sweep of vanilla and tastes of almond.
