  • A sweet port bomb. If that's your thing, and you don't mind a little youth, this is really solid for $35.

  • As there’s nothing obviously wrong with this whiskey, I can’t fault it; neither can I say I’ll be buying a bottle.

  • Not quite a sipper, but would say for the price it's one you can add to the home bar to use in cocktail applications or drink on the rocks.

  • At $35 it’s a huge steal that works great on its own but which won’t feel like a “waste” if you want to use it in cocktails.

  • Nose:

Total port bomb on the nose. Super grape-forward with notes of tobacco, raspberry jam, black pepper and some grains.

  • Taste:

Sweet and heavy on the port, which is joined by some youthful graininess, cinnamon and cocoa.

  • Finish:

Tons of port on the finish, plus nutmeg, port and walnuts.

  • Overall:

A sweet port bomb. If that's your thing, and you don't mind a little youth, this is really solid for $35 — and could hold up very well in a cocktail.
