Though we don't make a habit of reviewing wine on this site, Chandon Garden Spritz tipped *just* enough into ready-to-drink cocktail territory that we figured it warranted a mention. Launched in 2021 by the imminently famous sparkling winemaker, the spritz combines Chandon dry cuvée with a house made liqueur crafted from Valencia oranges peels, chamomile, cardamom and black pepper. According to the brand, it was inspired by the "well-known Argentine penchant" for bitter flavors like yerba mate and Fernet.

The pinkish, effervescent hue is the spitting image of a rosé. And it smells like one too. Blackberry, currants, honey suckle, dried citrus and faint white pepper remind you that this is — as its name foretells — a garden spritz.
Big hit of raspberry and sweet orange right off the bat. More orange juice than orange peel, surprisingly enough. The liqueur contributes a silky mouthfeel, almost approximating the vibe of a full-on pre-mixed cocktail without going all the way. Refreshing stuff. Hidden within there's hints of peach, raisin, lavender and clove.
The finish leans into drier flavors of chamomile, hibiscus and citrus pith, though that signature raspberry-and-orange double whammy is still lingering around.
A Fernet Spritz, it is not. Though the product description describes this is a bold and bitter fusion of flavors, I'd say this has a lot more in common with the delicately sweet, approachable cocktails served at an 11am brunch spot. It's smooth, it's easy going and it's the kind of drink you could place in front of anyone without complaint. I've got to admit, the novelty of a pre-mixed spritz delivered inside a full-sized champagne bottle is pretty neat as well.
