Castle & Key Small Batch Bourbon, produced in Frankfort, Kentucky, is crafted from a mashbill of 73% white corn, 10% rye and 17% malted barley. Aged for four years, tasting notes and ABV vary between batches.
The Castle and Key Small Batch Bourbon Batch 2 is very well done and accurately priced at $50. I would highly encourage anyone to pickup a bottle as an easy sipping whiskey that really outperforms other highly sought after bottles.
With a gorgeous bottle and a bright and lively sip, Castle & Key makes it quite clear that they’ll be able to compete with their larger Kentucky counterparts with the release of their impressive first batch of Small Batch Bourbon.
The real fun is during a long, lovely finish where the sweetness wanes and a strong wave of rye and pepper takes over for the duration. A straight drinker that could also do well in cocktails, but why spoil the ride?
