It opens with young stewed agave and a grainy edge reminiscent of toasted pumpernickel. There's a raw vegetal note underneath, like freshly split spaghetti squash.
Zippy and peppery with an immediate hit of green chili and cracked white pepper. A distinct stony minerality cuts through, think fresh concrete after rain.
Dry and firm, the medium-length finish carries lingering jalapeño seed heat, bitter ash and a thread of toasted oak, concluding in a tingly, smoky snap.
Resinous, earthy and full of compelling capsicum spice. It runs a little hot on the exhale, but that kick plays well with its rugged, green core. Certainly a lively sipper.
