  • PX is tough to work with, and Caol Ila doesn’t always crush wine finishes. This release from Scotch Universe is nailing it and crushes the integration of PX with the base malt. Lovely stuff.

House Review
  • Nose:

    Sweet raspberry cream on the nose with toffee, some buttercream, big peaty ash and a hint of minerality.

  • Taste:

    Rich mouthfeel. Big raisin bread character on the palate, ash and honey, minerality, some faint salinity and big, rich cherry notes.

  • Finish:

    Long finish. Great balance of malt, PX and Caol Ila peat. Hangs on forever.

  • Overall:

    PX is tough to work with, and Caol Ila doesn’t always crush wine finishes. This release from Scotch Universe is nailing it and crushes the integration of PX with the base malt. Lovely stuff.
