Cantera Negra Tequila Extra Añejo is produced from 100% blue agave at Cavas de Don Max in the valley region of Jalisco, Mexico. Aged at least 36 months in a blend of bourbon and cognac casks, it is bottled at 40% ABV.
On the palate, there is an ultra-smooth entry leading to more dessert-like flavors of tiramisu, cocoa powder and toffee. The body is medium, and the finish is quite long ending on a slightly tannic note.
