  • I was worried this would be cloying from the nose, but this delivers powerfully. Its unique, complex and a hell of a ride.

  • Nose:

Huge sweet wine right up front. Its like a candy store. Amaretto, wine, brine, sweet vanilla bean, rich fudge. All sweetness with a light, savory undertoe.

  • Taste:

Thick, rich, and very sweet. Honey, figs, almonds, vanilla bean. Light pepper. Some heat here but holding tame for the proof. Red vines and red berries. Light brine, faint sulfur, rich currant and fresh baked bread. Cocoa bean, hint of nutmeg.

  • Finish:

Long, rich and tame despite the heat in the palate. Cocoa, licorice candies (think red, not black/anise). Savory and rich. Dark chocolate, blackberry, currant and sourdough bread.

  • Overall:

I was worried this would be cloying from the nose, but this delivers powerfully. Its unique, complex and a hell of a ride.
