Bartesian x Mezcalum Mezcalita

  • Price $1 to $29.99

This is a capsule from Bartesian, the at-home cocktail maker, released in conjunction with Mezcalum, the mezcal brand from Erin and Abe Lichy, stars of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City." Bartesian capsules come without alcohol; users simply pour their spirit into an attached canister, insert their capsule, select the strength they want their cocktail to be and boom — you have a ready-made cocktail within seconds. Make this one with tequila or mezcal. Bartesian recommends using a low ball glass and garnishing with lemon or lime. The Mezcalita costs $3.12 per capsule and can be purchased from the Bartesian's website in packs of eight, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 or 56.

  • Nose:

Smoky mezcal character meets bright citrus.

  • Taste:

This is a very tasty, well balanced cocktail! Smoky mezcal leads the way, surrounded by some beautiful sweet citrus notes — orange and lime juice, mostly.

  • Finish:

The Mezcalita finishes nicely, with citrus driving the boat initially, followed by some classic mezcal character, including a big campfire smoke vibe.

  • Overall:

A wonderful cocktail, the Bartesian x Mezcalum's Mezcalita is a perfect riff on the classic margarita for any fan of smoky mezcal. It's tangy, smoky and delicious.
