Aultmore of the Foggie Moss Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 18 Years is a Speyside single malt produced at the Aultmore Distillery in Keith, Banffshire, Scotland, owned by John Dewar & Sons, a Bacardi subsidiary. It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and refill sherry casks, bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added caramel coloring. The expression was released in 2015 as part of Dewar's Last Great Malts range and retails for around $144.
Followed by a waxy polish note which gives way to spicy flavours of oak, white pepper, cinnamon, ginger, and a little clove. There’s a subtle nutty undernote throughout – possibly almond.
Honey, toffee and hay again, but now more defined with apple peels, grapes, orange zest and some real creaminess. Earthiness is still here, quite musty, almost like a forest mushroom.
