First released in September 2026, Aberlour 25 Year Old is an annual release and a permanent addition to the Speyside distillery's range. It is made from a small number of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, and built on Aberlour's double cask maturation. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength — 50.8% ABV in this first release — so the ABV will vary by batch. The release is limited to a few hundred bottles worldwide and is priced at €650 ($725). It is available at select retailers worldwide, but not in the United States. Aberlour was founded in 1879 and is owned by Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky arm of Pernod Ricard.

The nose is very bready with layers of fruit: toasted French bread, meringue, baked peaches, pie crust.
Plenty of oak is joined by orange sherbet, raisins, honey, tobacco, white pepper, gingersnaps.
The finish opens quite fruit-forward, with orange peel, papaya and apricot. That fruity profile fades into a more tannic profile of leather and espresso.
Significantly oakier than its 21-year-old counterpart, Aberlour 25 Year Old is a very good, well rounded whisky, but it leans so heavily into oak that it lacks the balance of younger Aberlour whiskies.
