On Wednesday, the Delaware-based craft brewer and distiller Dogfish Head has unveiled the “Secret Stash Cooler,” a limited-edition cooler featuring a hidden compartment designed to keep your most prized beverages out of sight and out of reach from thirsty party guests. The playful release arrives as Dogfish Head continues to promote its lineup of spirits-based ready-to-drink cocktails ahead of the busy summer season.

Priced at $99, the Secret Stash Cooler is available through Dogfish Head’s online store while supplies last, with purchases limited to one cooler per order.

“I love sharing our off-centered goodness with friends and family, but there’s no worse feeling than stocking the party cooler and finding that all your favorites have immediately disappeared,” Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione said in a news release. “That’s why we created the ‘Secret Stash Cooler’ so you can have your cocktail and drink it too.”

Designed for beach trips, boat days, backyard barbecues and other warm-weather gatherings, the cooler includes a concealed storage compartment where drinkers can stash a private reserve of their favorite canned cocktails while the rest of the cooler remains available to guests.

The launch serves as a marketing push for Dogfish Head Cocktails, the company’s spirits-based RTD line made with house-distilled spirits and real fruit juices. The portfolio includes two variety packs featuring vodka, rum and tequila-based cocktails, each bottled at 7% ABV.

The Vodka Cocktails Mix Pack comprises Strawberry Honeyberry Vodka Lemonade, Blood Orange Mango Vodka Crush, Blueberry Citrus Vodka Lemon Drop and Passion Fruit Citrus Vodka Mule. The Tropical Cocktails Mix Pack features Peach Mango Rum Punch, Pineapple Orange Rum Mai Tai, Strawberry Lime Tequila Margarita and Blood Orange Mango Vodka Crush.

Dogfish Head says its cocktails are crafted using real spirits and fruit juices to deliver a bar-quality experience in a convenient canned format.

Beyond the online availability, limited number of Secret Stash Coolers will also be available at Dogfish Head’s Delaware locations. The company has not disclosed how many coolers were produced.

The launch comes as RTDs continue to be one of the fastest-growing segments of the beverage alcohol industry, with brands increasingly looking beyond the liquid itself and into lifestyle-oriented merchandise to connect with consumers during the summer drinking season.
