Much has been said about the celebrity-backed alcohol craze that’s bulldozed its way across liquor store shelves these past few years. What began as a trend relegated largely to vodka and wine has slowly expanded to include whiskey, tequila, beer, pre-mixed cocktails and just about anything else in need of a high-profile marketing push.

If you can think of an alcohol type, we can guarantee you with absolute certainty that an A-lister has thought of it first.

And the category keeps on giving. This month alone, we counted at least eight celebrity-backed launches from the varied likes of Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Tom Holland and Jon Bon Jovi. Some mixed up old favorites like gin and rosé; others dived headfirst into the growing market for alternative spirits that contain no booze at all. Others still fictionalized cat-loving luchadors known as “Don Gato.”

In light of the trends, we’re rounding up every celebrity alcohol that touched down with consumers in October 2024.

Decades after the release of their first joint single in 1992, West Coast rap legends Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are back for more with the unveiling of Still G.I.N.

The citrus-forward spirit is said to boast flavors of tangerine, jasmine and coriander, though we will note that the precise botanical breakdown has not been disclosed. For those keeping track, this is Snoop’s fifth alcohol venture to date. He’s previously released Indoggo Gin, two crossovers with 19 Crimes Wine and a Gin & Juice canned cocktail, also brought to market alongside Dr. Dre.

As if that wasn’t enough, Dre and Snoop just announced that their collaborative LP, “Missionary,” is slated to drop before the end of the year. These guys sure know how to keep busy, especially in the months before an album roll-out cycle. To put it in Snoop’s own words, “It’s all part of the game.”

Bottles of Still G.I.N. are being distributed by Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits nationwide at a suggested retail price of $34.99.

The first — but not last — nonalcoholic release on our list comes courtesy of “Spider-Man” actor Tom Holland. Those who’ve followed along with his journey may already know that he’s been sober for nearly two years, a fact that he wears loud and proud with his latest venture, BERO.

The zero-ABV beer launched in Kingston Golden Pils, Edge Hill Hazy IPA and Noon Wheat varieties. Beyond its celebrity backer, perhaps the most interesting angle of the brand is that it’s helmed by Grant Wood, an alum of thoroughly alcoholic names like Angry Orchard and Sam Adams. His career change came at just the right time; nonalcoholic beer generated over $34 billion in revenue in 2023. In the coming years, the figure is expected to top $50 billion.

BERO is the only celebrity-owned nonalc beer that we know of, and, chances are, Holland has a lot to gain here. Six-packs of his ale are currently retailing at $16 each.

Danny McBride – Don Gato

Comedian Danny McBride expanded his repertoire from “Pineapple Express” to agave advocate earlier this month with the launch of Don Gato.

The tequila, perhaps intended as a nod to an “Eastbound & Down” plotline in which McBride’s character flees to Mexico, is chock full of comedic nods. The whole vibe is built around the titular Don Gato, a fictional luchador who loves cats nearly as much as wrestling. There’s an elaborate backstory involving “El General” and a pyramid scheme that we won’t delve into for time’s sake. Elsewhere, the brand’s marketing push is brimming with all the disco parties, motorcycle rides and mock machismo that you’d expect from a McBride-owned spirits venture.

The tequila was rolled out in Blanco and Reposado varieties, the latter of which is aged 2 months in American oak casks. The additive-free spirits are now available at $39.99 and $44.99, respectively.

Fresh off the release of her latest album, Katy Perry is expanding her nonalcoholic apéritif line, De Soi, with a new seasonal flavor.

Described as a riff on the Moscow Mule, the affectionately retitled St. Moritz Mule is said to pair flavors of pomegranate and cranberry with spiced notes of ginger and rosemary. Perry describes it as “winter in a glass.”

What the drink lacks in booze it makes up for in purported adaptogenic benefits. Each of De Soi’s cocktails contains lion’s mane (“to soothe stress”), reishi mushroom (“brain boosting”) and L-theanine (“to enhance cognition”). If that sounds like your nonalcoholic cup of tea, the brand is also available in Spritz Italinao, Purple Lune, Champignon Dreams and Golden Hour varieties retailing around $20 per 4-pack.

“Insecure” actress Issa Rae added another notch to her portfolio with the introduction of a sparkling rosé to her wine brand, Viarae Prosecco.

Each bottle of the Barbie-pink blend contains 88% Glera and 12% Pinot Noir. Grapes were sourced from the Veneto region of Northern Italian, famous worldwide for its sparkling wine production. After undergoing 60 days of secondary fermentation, the rosé batch is said to boast vibrant flavors of strawberry, peach, a “kiss of sweetness” and bracing acidity.

The Emmy-nominated actress and producer first introduced Viarae last year alongside E.J. Gallo, the spirits supercompany behind New Amsterdam Vodka and High Noon Seltzer. Months later, Rae signed on as an investor in LeBron James’ Lobos 1707 Tequila. The two ventures are entirely unrelated, though, from the looks of it, both quite successful.

Viarae Prosecco Brut Rose is now available at $19.99.

Brother’s Bond Bourbon Bottled-in-Bond (or, as we like to call it for short, BBBBB) is the most recent launch from “The Vampire Diaries” alum Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.

The sixth whiskey in their portfolio abides by all the rules set in place by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The expression was distilled by one distiller in a single season, bottled at 50% ABV and aged for seven years in a federally bonded warehouse— three more than the legal minimum. Clocking in at a mashbill of 51% corn, 39% rye and 10% malted rye, it contains just enough of the necessary ingredients to qualify as a bourbon.

We haven’t had a chance to try this one yet, though we will say that Brother’s Bond has been somewhat well-received since its launch in May 2021. Said to boast flavors of maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg, its latest release is now available at $59.99.

Jon Bon Jovi – Hampton Water Bubbly

Our second celebrity-backed sparkling rosé of the month can be credited to rock-n-roller Jon Bon Jovi, co-founder of Hampton Water alongside his son Jesse Bongiovi and French winemaker Gérard Bertrand.

This time around, the team opted for a crisp, low-sugar blend made up of 47% Pinot Noir, 30% Grenache and 23% Chardonnay. The end product is said to boast big flavors of citrus, red fruit and florals.

Though celebrity-owned tequila and whiskey tend to draw the buzz, it’s worth noting that the rosé category is equally stuffed (if not oversaturated) with high-profile stars. Names including Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Post Malone and the aforementioned Snoop Dogg have all tossed their hats into the ring with bright and sweet offerings.

Despite the stiff competition, Jesse Bongiovi claims that Hampton Water sales are up 28% over the past year. The brand’s new offering aims to keep up the momentum at a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Michael Voltaggio – Marcado 28

“Top Chef” season 6 winner Michael Voltaggio is the latest to put a culinary twist on the tequila market. His venture, dubbed Marcado 28, pays homage to the cheffiest of chef tropes: copious tattoos. Each bottle is adorned with a label designed by artists El Sando and Billy Bacca that more or less mimics what you’d find on Voltaggio’s arms.

The spirit itself is reportedly made from a back-to-basics mix of agave, yeast and water sourced from the aquifers of Volcán de Tequila. Distillation is overseen by maestro tequilero Bruno Barba, whose great-grandmother, Gabriela de la Peña, pioneered the modernization of tequila in the 1960s.

The brand is coming to market with an unaged Blanco and American oak-rested Reposado available at $49.99 and $59.99, respectively.
