One dimensional, over oaked, and not pleasing to sip, this feels like a label Heaven Hill uses to get flawed barrels out of their warehouses for a nominal return.
This just hit all my boxes for everything I could as for in a budget bourbon. While not a wide range of notes, it excelled in what was there. For $15, I don’t think I have ever had a better value in a bottle.
Although the flavor profile is enjoyable and the finish is nice, it does lack much body, mouthfeel or complexity. Will I most certainly buy it again and continue to surprise people with it in blind tastings, you bet.
