On Tuesday, Laws Whiskey House announced that for the first time, the brand is releasing three bottled-in-bond whiskeys simultaneously: a bourbon, rye and wheat whiskey. The brand chose to roll them all out together so fans of the Colorado whiskey distillery could taste them side by side.

Each whiskey features a 7-year age statement. For a whiskey to qualify as Bottled-in-Bond, it must be aged for a minimum of four years before being bottled at 100 proof. It must be made by a single distillery during one distilling season by one distiller and aged in a federally bonded warehouse.

The whiskeys each host a suggested retail price of $84.99 and can be purchased in specific markets in the U.S. and can be purchased directly from Laws Whiskey House’s website.

7-Year Bonded Bourbon

This bourbon is composed of a mashbill made from 60% corn, 20% heirloom wheat, 10% heirloom rye and 10% heirloom malted barley. The bourbon possesses plenty of floral qualities, thyme, grapefruit pith and plenty of cedar on the finish.

“This year, we liked how the 7-year barrels tasted for the Four Grain Bourbon, as we were looking to elevate the sweet caramel notes,” Laws Whiskey House founder and President Al Laws said in a news release. “So, those who like a sweeter backbone to their bourbon are going to love this. Additionally, I particularly like the classic sour mash finish in the 2024 release.”

7-Year Bonded Rye

This rye whiskey was distilled from a mashbill composed of 100% heirloom rye, according to the brand. It was aged in 53-gallon charred oak barrels and possesses aromas of pastry, cherry cola, eucalyptus and Red Hots Candy.

“The San Luis Valley Rye always has the most range with true vintage year terroir stemming from the grain,” Laws said. “This year we elevated the brightness and strived for greater balance in its traditional flavor notes.”

7-Year Bonded Centennial Wheat

This wheat whiskey was composed exclusively of Centennial spring wheat. The whiskey was aged in 54-gallon charred oak barrels, and Laws Whiskey House claims it has aromas of apricot, turbinado sugar and cola. The wheated whiskey additionally boasts aromas of pastry and some herbaceous licorice notes.

“In the Bonded Centennial Wheat, balance was also the goal, with some focus on bringing root beer and/or sarsaparilla notes forward,” Laws said. “These, coupled with the creamsicle elements are what I like about this excellent summer sipper over ice.”
