Sagamore Spirit, the Maryland-based distillery known for its popular rye whiskeys, announced the release of its first 100%-Maryland-distilled rye whiskey to be available worldwide last Wednesday.

Made from grains sourced through Sagamore Spirit’s Farm-to-Table process, Sagamore Small Batch is a blend of Sagamore Spirit’s triple-distilled high rye and low rye mashbills. Aged between four and six years, the whiskey is blended in batches of 20 barrels and bottled at 93 proof.

“Sagamore Small Batch Rye Whiskey is our first 100% Maryland-made whiskey that is available worldwide, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with whiskey lovers across the globe,” Sagamore Spirit VP of Operations Ryan Norwood said in a news release. “We are proud to unveil the first expression of many made entirely at our distillery while honoring Maryland’s rich whiskey heritage.”

Sagamore Small Batch Rye Whiskey is available at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $39.99.

Sagamore Spirit was founded by Kevin Plank, best known for founding Under Armour.

In September, Sagamore Spirit was acquired by Illva Saronno, the Italian conglomerate. Illva Saronno is best known for its popular amaretto brand, Disaronno, but also owns The Busker Irish Whiskey, Engine Gin and Rump@blic.

In March, the brand announced the return of one of its fan-favorite whiskeys, Sagamore Manhattan Finish. The 4-year-old rye is finished in vermouth, bitters and cherry brandy barrels for at least 20 months, creating a rye that Sagamore believes to essentially be a Manhattan in a whiskey.
