La Maison & Velier (LM&V) celebrates its five-year anniversary with the introduction of the Flag Series for the US Market. The new series offers two remarkable single casks bottlings from Guyana and Trinidad.

The Flag Series is made up of single casks rums from different countries and years. The rums in this series don’t just take drinkers on a journey around the world but also through time. The new lineup represents rare and exceptional spirits aged for great lengths of time and bottled “au naturel,” at cask strength with no additives, colorings, or filtration. Each bottling is one-of-a-kind making it a highly sought-after collector’s item for rum enthusiasts.

The Guyana 1998 edition is a molasses-based rum produced by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) in its famous Port Mourant still. The Port Mourant still is made from greenheart wood and is a very unique double retort pot still from this historical distillery. The double-matured rum first aged for two years in ex-bourbon barrels in Guyana before transferring to a Port cask and aging for a further 22 years in Europe. This single-cask rum was bottled at 59% ABV.

The second edition of the duo of rums in the Flag Series is the Trinidad 2002. This is a molasses-based single-cask rum from the Caribbean. The rum was aged for 15 years in an ex-bourbon cask in Trinidad. After those years in the tropical island climate, the rum was then transported to Europe where it would age an additional 5 years before being bottled at 63.1% ABV.

The rums will be available in select markets throughout the US. However, the rums are single casks so are limited in quantity.
