On Thursday, WhistlePig Whiskey announced plans to cover deduction taxes for 15 taxpaying fans of the brand.
The first federal tax on a domestic product was the whiskey tax in 1791, which was met by the Whiskey Rebellion. WhistlePig claims this tax-paying assistance is its very own sort of “Whiskey Rebellion.”
According to the Vermont-based whiskey brand, the standard deduction tax has increased to $1,500 for joint filers, so WhistlePig is going to cover $1,500 for 15 taxpayers — “so you can use your tax refund on craft whiskey instead.”
The 15 winners of the $1,500 each will also receive an “Uncle Ham Piggy Pour Spout, pictured below.
