Blanton’s Bourbon for Under $60? Costco May Be the Most Underrated Source of Rare Whiskeys at Great Prices

Buffalo Trace fans looking to get their Blanton’s Bourbon fix may be able to find it at a fantastic price at… Costco?
A redditor on the Costco subreddit recently posted a photo of Blanton’s that they found for $56.89 in Burbank, California, Tasting Table reported. Even better news — bottles at the Burbank Costco can be purchased for $56.89.
In the comments section of a Reddit post where an individual shared their Blanton’s find from the big box retailer, the top-voted comment read the following:
“That’s 100 + if you can find it anywhere in Kentucky.”
More people shared their war stories on the platform as they tried to hunt down a bottle of Blanton’s Bourbon for themselves:
“Shit… I’ve been trying to buy one for years in Texas and the only one I have found was $220…. Let’s just say I’m still looking lol. $57 is a great price.”
The customer alleges they grabbed the last bottle at the Burbank Costco, but according to other Redditors, bottles of Blanton’s have popped up at other Costcos in California cities neighboring Los Angeles.
In Northridge, a bottle was posted for $46.99.
Redditors also have previously posted affordable Blanton’s finds in cities beyond California, as well, such as Las Vegas and Washington, D.C.
Blanton’s has quite the devout following. People love the juice inside the bottles, which is produced by Buffalo Trace. Blanton’s is also tough to find at a good price, and rarity breeds interest. Plus, there are silver horse figurines on top of the stoppers of the oblong-shaped bottles, making them highly collectible.
Each silver figurine spells out a letter from the word, “Blanton’s” and collectors scramble to purchase them all. Those with all eight letters often send them back to the Buffalo Trace Distillery, where the brand will mount them for free on a barrel stave.
In early February, Buffalo Trace made headlines when the brand offered a sweepstakes for charity giving individuals the opportunity to purchase a rare barrel of Blanton’s Gold. Due to the brand’s astounding popularity, Sazerac and Buffalo Trace raised $1 million in two weeks.
