‘A Dream Come True’: Rare Character Teams Up With Wild Turkey Historian David Jennings to Release Bourbon Honoring Anderson County, Kentucky

Rare Character Whiskey Company announced the debut of a new collection, Pride of Anderson County, on Tuesday. The pair of whiskeys launch in collaboration with Rare Bird 101, a popular website founded by David Jennings that’s dedicated to Wild Turkey.
Pride of Anderson County is a limited-release whiskey collection that is a nod to the traditions and heritage of Kentucky bourbon and rye production. The series consists of a 13-year-old bourbon and a 9-year-old rye.
“We are thrilled to bring ‘Pride of Anderson County’ to the world,” Rare Character Whiskey Company co-founder Peter Nevenglosky said in a news release. “This collaboration with Rare Bird 101 is a testament to our commitment to producing exceptional and unique whiskeys. By uniting our distilling expertise with David’s deep understanding of the Wild Turkey legacy, we’ve created something truly special that pays homage to the whiskey heritage of Anderson County.”
The bourbon was aged in new charred oak barrels and hosts a complicated flavor profile that includes caramel, vanilla, oak and baking spices, according to the brand, which describes the rye as having a combination of sweet and spicy aromas and is a testament to the versatility of rye production in Anderson County according to the brands.
The collection is available in limited quantities and hosts distinctive packaging inspired by the history of Anderson County.
