Bardstown Bourbon Company announced the opening of a new tasting room in the heart of Louisville’s famous Whiskey Row on Wednesday.

The tasting room will feature an interactive educational experience, craft cocktails, augmented reality, access to exclusive releases and more.

“As a company focused on exploring and showcasing what’s possible in whiskey, we’ve spent years creating a new tradition that celebrates the past while looking into the future,” Bardstown Bourbon Company Vice President of New Product Development Dan Callaway said in a news release. “For this space, integrating leading-edge technology and building tasting experiences unlike anything else in the state was the key to doing that. Bardstown Bourbon Company has the opportunity to speak to a much larger audience in Downtown Louisville and merged the best of design, experience, and story-telling in order to do so.”

Bardstown worked with 3rockAR, an augmented reality firm, to create an educational program for guests to experience and learn about Bardstown Bourbon Company’s brands.

The tasting room is set to offer three educational tasting experiences priced from $25 to $35 apiece. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked here, and the tasting room will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.

Bardstown Bourbon Company is offering three tasting experiences: The Collaborative Series Experience illustrates the influence of barrel finishing. The Origin Experience offers guests the opportunity to taste the brand’s estate-distilled flagship expressions. Lastly, The Art of Blending Experience showcases the sensory qualities of the Discovery Series bourbons and allows guests to study the aroma, flavor and finish.

Bardstown Bourbon Co. hosts new facilities that have a bespoke menu featuring classic cocktails and newer recipes alike.

Guests will be able to book private events later in the year.

This month, Bardstown Bourbon Co. was honored by the International Wine and Spirits Competition as Worldwide Whiskey Producer of the Year. The IWSC described Bardstown Bourbon Co. as setting “the standard for the modern bourbon experience.”

The opening of Bardstown Bourbon Co.’s tasting room marks the latest exciting development for the brand.

“More than 2 million visitors came to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail last year and more people are enjoying bourbon experiences all across the state,” Bardstown Bourbon Co. CEO Mark Erwin said. “While many make the pilgrimage to Bardstown, Louisville is really Kentucky’s open arms. House Bill 500, which granted the ability to open a tasting room, made the way for us to educate people about how we’re moving bourbon forward in a distinctly Bardstown Bourbon Co. way, right here in Louisville.”
