  • . I think it’s one of the best Larceny Barrel Proofs to date — though mind the need for a healthy splash of water for the spirit to really show its charms.

  • Personally, it is a bit too hot for my taste, but if you are an old school bourbon drinker, or someone that loves barrel strength whiskey, this is something you should definitely seek out.

  • All in all, this is a solid batch of Larceny BP, though the grain-forward flavors make it read as a bit youthful to me.

  • Nose:

Beautiful caramel, waffle cone, honey, toffee and a dash of cake batter. Touch of cinnamon, clove and a zip of ginger and brown sugar.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, syrupy and viscous. Maple, caramel candies, a prickle of ethanol and cherry cordials. Some apple butter, lovely sweetness.

  • Finish:

Long finish, it’s spicy and rich, maple driven and oh so savory and satisfying. Cola, root beer, cinnamon spice and maple all day long.

  • Overall:

This is a hitter of a release, a very strong start to 2023 for Larceny and its barrel-proof releases. Wonderful stuff.
