Smögen Swedish Single Malt Aged 10 Years is produced at Smögen Distillery, a small operation founded in 2009 by Pär Caldenby on a farm near Hunnebostrand on Sweden’s west coast. Made from heavily peated barley and distilled in a small copper pot still, the whisky is matured in maritime warehouses, giving it a character often compared with Islay Scotch. The distillery has released several 10-year-old expressions at different ABVs and with various cask types, with its own bottlings typically appearing around 51.4% ABV.
