Michter's 10 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye is a limited annual release produced by Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. It is made from a Kentucky-style rye mash bill with rye content near the 51% federal minimum and a higher proportion of corn and malted barley than most American rye whiskeys, then aged for at least 10 years in new charred American white oak barrels. The 2026 release is bottled at 92.8 proof (46.4% ABV) and carries a suggested retail price of $210.
The spicy side grows on the sip from sweet and minty to herbal and peppery, taking on a woody aspect along the way, with the earthy note turning musty.
Dark sweetness redolent of molasses, with a light vanilla lilt as it vaporizes on the tongue. Cinnamon, nutmeg, crisp apple, yellow bell pepper, a bit of red hot candy.
