Pegasus Distillerie Orion Gin is a French gin made at the Pegasus Distillerie in Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy. The gin is produced using an iStill new-generation still and features five carefully selected botanicals including juniper, lemon, orange flower, angelica and coriander. It is bottled at 43% ABV and sells for around $56.

  • The sweetness is very surprising, soon bringing the mint flavor into sharper focus, only to be overtaken once more by the sweet tangerine. The texture is viscous but not cloying, and is improved with a few drops of water to create a bloom effect — or one ice cube.

  • Sprightly, juniper forward nose with more subtle essences of citrus and spice. Really nice entry with the pine-like flavors subdued by an initial hit of lemon and an almost cream like mouthfeel. The sweetness of the base spirit fades after half a minute, leaving a prickly pepperiness on the back of the palate.
