Pegasus Shooting Star Vodka is a meteorite-infused vodka from Pegasus Distillerie, founded in 2021 by Maxime Girardin in Burgundy, France. Made from organic, locally sourced wheat and barley, it undergoes three slow reflux distillations equivalent to more than ten classic distillations. The vodka is aged for a minimum of one year in an Italian terracotta amphora with a suspended meteorite. A bottle retails for around $200.

  • The vodka has a fresh scent and leans towards a mineral tonality on the nose. The flavor is also fresh, clean and has a slightly sweet edge, a semi-round mouthfeel that quickly moves into a slightly chalky character, followed by a lively black pepper finish on the back of the palate. I

  • A similarly sweet, mineral flavor matching the aroma explodes on the first sip. Midpalate vanilla and cream come to the forefront, but the initial flavor is so intensely present that it’s challenging to detect nuances, at least for a bit.
