BuzzBallz Unveils Limited-Edition ‘SoccerBallz’ Cocktails Toasting the World Cup

World Cup mania is descending in full force upon the alcohol industry — and what better brand to capitalize on the festivies than the one already shaped like a ball?
On Wednesday, ready-to-drink cocktail brand BuzzBallz announced a slate of sporty flavors dubbed SoccerBallz. Themed after countries participating in this year’s tournament, the drinks range from the caipirinha-inspired “Caipi Crush” to the sangria-adjacent “Sol Siesta.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, each is packaged to look like a bite-sized soccer ball, complete with miniature flag designs paying homage to each cocktail’s home country.
The eight flavors are:
-
Flags & Freedom: “A USA-inspired mix of orange and pineapple”
-
Fuego Tamarita: “Mexico-inspired flavor combining sweet, sour and juicy watermelon with a spicy kick”
-
Pip Pip Punch: “An England-inspired proper punchy twist”
-
Smashentina: “An Argentina-inspired mix of crisp melon with a peppery edge”
-
Sol Siesta: “A Spain-inspired light and fruity option perfect for laid-back sipping”
-
Caipi Crush: “A Brazil-inspired, citrus forward flavor that’s ready to samba”
-
Soccer Lime-Rita: “A classic lime margarita moment, dressed in a jersey and ready to play”
-
Goaaaal-Melon: “A blend of tangy citrus and sweet melon”
The cocktails are canned (or rather, balled?) between 13.5% and 15% ABV, each made with either vodka or an agave wine base. The flavors are currently rolling out through retailers nationwide at $3.99 and up. Based on images trickling out of liquor stores, it appears that the launch will also be available in 1.75-liter “Biggies” and 3-liter “Boulders” formats.
It’s one of the first major launches from the brand following its acquisition by spirits giant Sazerac in 2024. The Louisiana-based firm — which also owns Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky — reportedly paid over $500 million for the spherical cocktail maker.
If you’re a soccer fan but BuzzBallz aren’t your cup of tea, fret not. Elsewhere in the alcohol world, brands large and small are capitalizing on the upcoming World Cup with all manner of releases. Gran Centenario recently paid tribute to this year’s host countries with a reposado aged in Canadian, Mexican and American oak. On the glitzier side of the spectrum, Don Julio has released a FIFA-themed reskin of its popular 1942 bottling, while Clase Azul upped the ante with its $1,700 Spirit of Champions decanter.
