It’s our job to separate the wheat from the chaff, and one of our favorite ways to do that is by highlighting the best whiskeys we tasted each month. In July 2025, we sampled an amazing selection, including Irish and Scottish single malts aged beyond 20 years and some of our favorite bourbons of 2025. Without further ado, let’s get into the list, which is ranked from great to unforgettable. For each whiskey, we’ll give you some info and our tasting notes.

A blend of 4- to 12-year-old straight rye and bourbon finished in red wine barrels, this 102-proof Utah whiskey balances jammy fruit notes with rich bourbon character. Expect flavors of blueberry jam, caramel cake, and clove over a tannic, spearmint-tinged finish. The red wine influence is strong but well integrated — a tricky task pulled off with finesse.

It’s elegant and refined — though its $999 price tag may be hard to justify.
