Milam & Greene Castle Hill Series Batch 1 is a limited edition bourbon made from a selection of 20 13-year-old barrels. Bottled at a barrel proof of 108.5, it was blended by master blender Heather Greene. The series is named after the historic Texas Military Institute, known as “The Castle,” in Austin, Texas, where Greene developed the batch in 2020. Batch 1 released with a suggested price of $119.99.

  • Adding water will open up fruity notes of peaches and apricots. The finish is long, dry, and well-balanced with subtle spices, a nice fruitiness, and an oaky character that makes this a very complex whisky. Excellent!

  • The nose on Castle Hill Batch 1 doesn’t really tickle the senses, but the palate’s got plenty going on.
