The Moodie Davitt Report reported Tuesday that Maker’s Mark is releasing a new Wood Finishing City Series bourbon celebrating Singapore. The duty-free-exclusive release is available exclusively via Lotte Duty Free at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 and hosts a suggested retail price of S $132 ($95 USD.)
The Beam Suntory-owned brand tapped the talents of two local gourmands — restaurateur and chef Willin Low and Jigger & Pony Bar Director Aki Eguchi — to create the whiskey.
“Drawing inspiration from the vibrant diversity of Singapore, our special Maker’s Mark whiskey offers a captivating tasting experience,” Eguchi said, according to the Moodie Davitt Report. “Crafted with a blend of flavors reminiscent of the lush tropical paradise, aromatic notes of pineapple and mango create a delightful burst of exotic fruitiness.”
For the expression, Maker’s Mark used a distinctive wood-stave finishing technique to offer a special twist to the bourbon.
The brand crafted a second barrel with custom-chosen wood staves to execute the “tastemakers'” desired flavor profile.

To celebrate the launch, a bespoke pop-up tasting will be featured at the airport until Feb. 29. Maker’s Mark ambassadors will offer interested parties a guided tasting.
“We are proud of the strong sense of place focus we have incorporated within this limited-edition release, offering Singapore’s traveling consumers the opportunity to purchase a truly novel whiskey imbued with a personalized emotional connection to the location that inspired it,” Beam Suntory Marketing Director Global Travel Retail Manuel Gonzalez said according to Moodie Davitt report.
Maker’s Mark launched its Wood Finishing City Series in November 2022.
The first two expressions to launch the series centered around New York and Sydney. The brand claimed in a news release that “to truly experience a city, you have to know its insiders.”
Maker’s Mark chose to recruit “aesthetes” and “tastemakers” to become “city spirit guides” for the brand. These tastemakers help the Maker’s Mark brand capture the flavors of each city in liquid form during the production process and upon release.
