Whisky Hammer, the United Kingdom whisky auction platform, is set to hold its 100th auction in March, and to mark the occasion, it’s giving away £10,000 ($12,700) in whisky vouchers, Grampian Online reported Monday.
All successful buyers in the March auction will be entered into a raffle to win a share of £10,000 worth of whisky vouchers able to be redeemed at the whisky shop Still Spirit. Each bottle won at the auction will grant buyers one entry into the draw. The £10,000 will be split between 10 winners, with first place winning a £5,000 ($6,300) voucher.
“Whisky has been our genuine passion from day one, and we’ve been dedicated to securing rare and hard to find whiskies for our buyers to enjoy ever since,” Whisky Hammer and Still Spirit co-founder and managing director Daniel Milne said, according to Grampian Online. “Thanks to our global buyer and seller customer base, we’ve been lucky enough to represent some true unicorns of the whisky world in our monthly auctions, and are so proud of what we have achieved between our very first auction to us now marking our 100th.
“Bringing together whisky lovers across the globe has been a real highlight for us and we feel the 100th auction is a great milestone to give back a big ‘thank you’ to our loyal buyers and sellers with the planned March auction perks. Here’s to the next eight years!”
Additionally, Whisky Hammer will celebrate its 100th auction by bottling a limited-edition, 11-year-old blended scotch. One hundred bottles of the 100-proof spirit will be available for bidding, and bids will start at £30 ($38) per bottle.
The 100th auction will go live at 7 p.m. GMT on March 15.
Whisky Hammer was founded in 2016 by brothers Daniel and Craig Milne and has since sold more than 155,000 lots worth £60 million ($76.1 million), according to Grampian Online.
Whisky Hammer’s 99th auction, held in February, was highlighted by a bottle of 72-year-old scotch produced by Glen Grant, which sold for £25,000 ($31,700).
In April 2022, a rare cask of Macallan 1988 scotch sold at a Whisky Hammer auction for a record £1,007,050 ($1.27 million).
