On Tuesday, The Dalmore announced the launch of The Cask Curation Series, which is the first set in a coordinated rollout of rare whiskey collections slated to take place over the next four years. The inaugural set celebrates sherry cask aging and the important part it plays at The Dalmore.

Just 150 sets of the first set will be available for purchase.

The series is meant to honor partners of The Dalmore. This particular collection celebrates the winemakers of González Byass in Jerez, Spain and their 80-year relationship with the distillery based in the Scottish Highlands.

The Dalmore whisky makers regularly visit González Byass to pick out sherry casks from the bodega, as the distillery uses them to age its single malts.

This collection comprises a 26-year-old, 28-year-old and 40-year-old expression, packaged in a distinctive case made of Florentine leather. All of the whiskies were drawn at cask strength and are non-chill filtered.

The Cask Curation Series was helmed by master whisky makers Greg Glass and Richard Paterson OBE from Dalmore and master winemakers Antonio and Silvia Florez from González Byass.

The entire collection hosts a suggested retail price of $37,500, according to The Spirits Business.

26 Year Old Vintage Sherry Finish

The 26 Year Old Vintage Sherry Finish expression was matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and is bottled at 48.2% ABV. The expression dates back to 1996, and after the spirit matured in the ex-bourbon casks, it was finished in a vintage sherry cask that dates back to 2002. It is described by Glass as “a true reflection of the natural beauty, balance and charm that The Dalmore offers.”
