Johnnie Walker and French fashion designer Olivier Rousteing announced their second collaboration, The Couture Blend, on Friday. It will be released at select luxury retailers.
The Scotch whisky, created under the Johnnie Walker Vault platform, follows April’s The Couture Expression collection, composed of four whiskies. Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker crafted the blend using 10 whiskies chosen from a stock of more than 10 million casks. The selection includes experimental whiskies, ghost stocks from closed distilleries such as Port Dundas and Caledonian, and vintage malts aged for more than 40 years.
Rousteing, creative director at Balmain, designed a crystal decanter to house the whisky. The bottle reinterprets Johnnie Walker’s square design, first used in the 1800s, with sharp architectural lines and a couture aesthetic. Each decanter is numbered, with some editions offering personalized collars engraved with the buyer’s initials.
The Couture Blend is available for a suggested retail price of $2,500 while supplies last.
