Orkney-based scotch whisky distillery Highland Park announced its latest expression as a result of a partnership with The Single Malt Shop — an 18-year-old single cask whisky, Stir the Jam reported Thursday.

Just 513 bottles are available, and the spirit is available for purchase at the price of €440 ($466).

“When it comes to whisky that’s matured for 18 years or more, I have fewer casks to choose from so those in our Single Cask Series are, quite simply, the most exceptional Highland Park casks available,” Highland Park Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion said, per Stir the Jam.

Highland Park 18 Year Old is bottled at a cask-strength 57% ABV.

Like many of the Orkney-based distillery’s other expressions, Highland Park 18-Year-Old was bottled in a sherry-seasoned Spanish oak refill butt.

“Some of our most outstanding single cask bottlings come from refill casks, as they have previously held whisky for only a short period of time, so have much to give in subsequent maturation,” Motion continued, according to Stir the Jam.

Motion claims the choice of cask, coupled with the sustained amount of time the scotch spent in it, is what elevates the distillery’s latest expression.

He describes the whisky as possessing flavors of “sweet toasted oak, vanilla fudge ice cream, roasted almonds and violets” with “floral peat smoke, cinnamon bark and spiciness.”

The Single Malt Shop expressed plenty of enthusiasm for the collaboration as well.

“We are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Highland Park on this 18-year-old single cask release. As a premium, specialist whisky retailer, we are always looking to work with distilleries to showcase their best expressions and this one complements the Highland Park line up very well indeed,” Ed Forrest, the shop’s managing director, said, according to Stir the Jam. “We are very excited by the Highland Park brand now. It is a perfect entry point into whisky with a very well-rounded flavor profile.”
