Duncan Taylor Scotch Honors King Charles and Queen Camilla With Whisky Gift

Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky announced on Tuesday that it gifted a limited-edition whisky and gin set to King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace. The set was created to mark the royal couple’s 20th wedding anniversary.

The Aberdeenshire-based independent bottler presented the Royal Anniversary Edition to the monarchs at Buckingham Palace earlier this month. The set comprises a 19-year-old Laphroaig single malt, distilled in 2005, and a gin finished in the same cask and bottled on April 9 — the royal couple’s anniversary date.

This is the third time Duncan Taylor has gifted spirits to the royals. In 2023, the company sent a trilogy of Laphroaig whiskies to Queen Camilla ahead of her Scottish coronation. Last year, it marked Edinburgh’s 900th anniversary as a royal burgh with a collection of Macallan whiskies for the King and Queen.

“Pairing a Laphroaig whisky from their nuptial year with a gin finished from the same cask, and bottled on their 20th anniversary, was a truly unique opportunity to celebrate their union,” Duncan Taylor director Evan Robertson said in a news release. “As the King champions regenerative textiles, the selection of sustainable materials for the packaging further added to the importance of this gift, and we were delighted to gift them the first set from this limited edition.”

The set comes in packaging made from sustainable materials. Only 205 editions are available worldwide, priced at $775, through The Spirits Embassy.

Founded in 1938, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky is based in Huntly, Scotland, where it operates cask storage, blending and bottling facilities. The company also owns one of the largest privately held collections of rare and vintage whiskies.
