On Tuesday, Diageo announced the launch of the brand’s Spirited Xchange Collection, a group of eight whiskies that the brand claims celebrate the “journey of scotch, countries and cultures around the world.”
Each collectible single malt was selected by Master Blender Dr. Stuart Morrison. The collection highlights distinctive cask finishes while honoring local cultures.
“This year, we’re proudly revealing our new series of distillery-first expressions: Spirited Xchange Special Releases 2023,” Morrison said in a news release. “For me, Spirited Xchange is about identifying and celebrating the ideas, flavors and tastes that surround us each day and inspire our curiosity to create. This collection has given us the opportunity to roam freely throughout our vast portfolio and experiment with old and new cask types, including various wine and local spirits casks to create eight one-of-a-kind expressions that we’ve never imagined before.”
Each expression hosts bespoke packaging illustrated by artists from around the world. The brand describes the pieces of artwork as “visual tasting notes” that showcase the flavors from the various casks.
