Bowmore announced last month the launch of two new whiskies, both featuring art from Scottish graphic artist Frank Quitely. The new whiskies are both editions of Bowmore No Corners to Hide, one aged 23 years and the other 32 years.

Bowmore No Corners to Hide is available exclusively in select global travel retailers, including Heathrow, Amsterdam Schipol, Dubai and Singapore Chaingi. The 23-year-old has a suggested retail price of $400, while the 32-year-old’s RSP is $2,995. Bowmore released 6,666 bottles of the 23-year-old and 666 bottles of the 32-year-old.

The Legend

The artwork on the bottles pays tribute to a legend that Bowmore says has shaped the village of Bowmore and the distillery. According to the legend, the devil visited a church in Bowmore in 1837, where he was chased by the congregation to the Bowmore distillery. The congregation never found the devil inside the distillery, but it’s believed that he hid himself in a cask, which was included in a shipment that was paddled to the mainland.

“To get the call from Bowmore, a legendary icon in the world of whisky, was offering me the opportunity of retelling the Islay Legend No Corners to Hide was hugely exciting,” Quitely said in a news release. “And to do this in a single image would prove massively challenging but taking inspiration in the Devil himself, it’s all in the detail.”
