On Wednesday, High West Distillery shared on Instagram that the Park City brand was releasing its annual, highly-coveted whiskey, A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 12 on Sunday, October 6.

The brand’s Midwinter Night’s Dram is a yearly limited offering of the brand’s Rendezvous Rye finished in a combination of tawny and ruby port barrels.

High West operates within the spirit of transparency and shares that some of its whiskey is sourced from MGP — a mega-whiskey distillery that has been known to produce whiskeys for myriad brands across the country, including Beyoncé’s SirDavis Rye Whiskey.

The remainder of the rye in the blend is from High West’s proprietary distillate, which is made from a mashbill of 80% rye and 20% malted rye.

High West rolled out its first Bottled In Bond whiskey in February, which marked a significant milestone for the brand, as its roots are that of a blending house.

As for the brand’s 2024 release of A Midwinter Night’s Dram, High West shared that at the Park City distillery the brand will be hosting “celebrations, tastings” and offering “exclusive merch” to celebrate the lauded whiskey’s release.

High West Midwinter Night’s Dram is beloved by many, though some individuals expressed in the comments section they believed the whiskey cost too much.

“Another season that my fav whiskey is out and I know I’ll never get a bottle for a reasonable price,” an individual commented on the post.

Though the MSRP for this year’s Midwinter Night’s Dram has yet to be released, last year’s offering was up for purchase at the distillery for $149.99.

Critics were partial to last year’s A Midwinter Night’s Dram, as the bottling clocked in with a Raided Score® of 90. See what the critics had to say here, or watch the video with our thoughts below:
