Freddie Noe, the eighth-generation master distiller from the famous Beam family of The James B. Beam Distilling Co., recently announced the release of a new line of Little Book series with the inaugural Little Book ‘The Infinite: Edition 1’ Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This is the first of a new series that will perpetually blend liquid from different bottlings to create an infinity line.

Little Book is the creation of Freddie Noe, master distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery. The name “Little Book” harkens back to Freddie’s childhood nickname, given to him because he shared many traits with his grandfather,  Frederick “Booker” Noe II. His grandfather was passed the distilling torch by his uncle, Jim Beam’s fifth-generation master distiller, T. Jeremiah “Jere” Beam, who had no children of his own in the 1960s cementing the Noe family’s legacy which has now emerged into one of the biggest names in whiskey.

Little Book ‘The Infinite: Edition 1’ is inspired by the 200 year history of Beam and Noe whiskey making. The current Master Blender at Fred B. Noe distillery at the James B. Beam Distilling Co.’s Clermont campus, Freddie Noe, crafted this release by blending whiskeys from different generations of distillers in his family. He took from liquid from barrels his father, Fred Noe, and grandfather, Booker Noe, once filled. The “Infinite” blend is the history of the Noe and Beam families in a bottle,

My father and I are lucky enough to work together, side by side as Master Distillers, and I know he always dreamed of that with his own father, my Grandaddy Booker,” said Freddie Noe, 8th Generation Master Distiller. “This new series pays tribute to that dream and inspired the first Edition of Little Book ‘The Infinite’, a multigenerational liquid that will form the foundation of all future releases. Once a year, I’ll bottle some up for the world to try. So, savor this whiskey today, and come back in a year for its next evolution.”

According to the brand, Little Book ‘The Infinite: Edition 1’ includes the following liquids:

  •   Booker Noe’s Component: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Aged 20 years
  •   Fred Noe’s Component: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Aged 14 years
  •   Freddie Noe’s Component: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Aged 7 years
  •   Shared Family Component: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Aged 8 Years

Normally taking whiskey from different barrels simply results in a blend. However, each year new whiskey will be added to the blend, making this a perpetual blend similar to the solera system used in sherry making but often adopted by rum and whiskey makers. The main difference being that instead of trying to achieve a uniform flavor this “infinite” blend’s flavor will be ever-evolving more akin to infinity bottles made by enthusiasts. The initial blend is what will set the tone for the Little Book Series but each year it will have a new chapter that changes the overall profile.

Infinity bottles are created by blending whiskeys together in a single vessel with new whiskey replenishing the bottle as it is poured so that it is always filled, thus creating an ever-changing flavor profile.

Little Book ‘The Infinite: Edition 1’ will be available in limited quantities nationwide across the U.S. with an SRP of $199.99. Find out more about purchase locations and availability on Little Book’s website.
