On Monday, an Irish whiskey brand owned by an Italian conglomerate announced its first small-batch expression.

Known for its array of solid, affordable Irish whiskeys, The Busker is one of two whiskey brands under the portfolio of Illva Saronno, which is best known for its ownership of Disaronno, a popular amaretto brand.

With its new limited-edition whiskey — The Busker Small Batch Single Pot Still — The Busker takes a step into a higher price range without trending into unaffordable territory with a $49.99 price tag.

The Busker’s standard portfolio of whiskeys — Single Grain, Single Malt, Single Pot Still and Triple Cask — range from $27.99 to $32.99.

Bottled at 46.3% ABV, The Busker Small Batch Single Pot Still is aged in both bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.

“It’s with great excitement and pride that we reveal today The Busker Small Batch whiskey,” The master blender team at the Royal Oak Distillery said in a news release. “An exquisite example of single-pot whiskey perfection! Lavishly opulent flavors with a full-bodied and bold structure, powerful yet well-rounded. Selected at our discretion, the whiskey is matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then expertly finished in Oloroso sherry European oak butts.”

The Busker referred to the new whiskey as “only the first of The Busker’s Small Batch releases,” hinting at additional small-batch expressions yet to come.

The Busker Small Batch Single Pot Still comes in 700-milliliter bottles and will be available via select retailers and through the brand’s online store.
