Teeling Whiskey announced the third release within the brand’s Wonders of Wood series, and this expression was aged in Virgin Swedish Oak. The brand calls Swedish oak  a “rare white oak” and says it adds flavors of crystalized ginger and almond syrup to the whiskey.

The whiskey hosts a suggested retail price of $99 and clocks in at 50% ABV. The latest offering from Teeling was triple-distilled from a mashbill that was an even split of malted and unmalted barley.

Teeling Whiskey: Wonders of Wood, Third Edition was crafted by Master Distiller Alex Chasko, and each release within the series explores different wood finishes to honor wood’s crucial role in the whiskey-making process.

As part of Teeling’s Wonders of Wood Series, the brand has partnered with the Tree Council of Ireland to help preserve local trees within the country. The brands claim an acre of native Irish trees will be planted across Ireland with each new whiskey release.

Teeling’s third expression within the brand’s Wonders of Wood series should be available in most of the United States by the end of May.

The debut whiskey within the series was aged in Virgin Chinkapin Oak.

In June, Teeling released its second installation within the Wonders of Wood series, and the expression was aged in Portuguese Oak. The whiskey was bottled at 100 proof, and an acre of trees were planted in Country Dublin after it was released. If you want to know what we thought about it, you can read our review here.
