Ahead of Ireland’s 1st NFL Game, Jameson Irish Whiskey Drops Full-Sized Football Flask

Jameson Irish Whiskey announced on Friday that it’s rolling out a new campaign tied to the first professional American football game in Ireland, which kicks off Sunday, Sept. 28, in Dublin.
The brand has declared itself the “Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans” in connection with the event, which Jameson lobbied for and marks the first time professional American football has been played on Irish soil. The campaign, which began this week, will run through Nov. 2 across Jameson-owned channels and paid media.
As part of the launch, Jameson introduced the Jameson Football Flask, a regulation-sized football that doubles as a container for a 750-milliliter bottle of whiskey. The flask, priced at $109.99 (with a bottle of Jameson included), will be available starting Thursday on ReserveBar.com while supplies last.
“Jameson has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the fans, and that’s why we are excited to declare ourselves the ‘Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans’ this season and to finally celebrate American football in Dublin,” Valeria Catterini, senior brand director, Jameson at Pernod Ricard USA, said in a news release. “After two years, we can’t wait for fans to experience Irish hospitality firsthand as we toast to the game that the fans helped make happen.”

In Dublin, meanwhile, Jameson’s Bow Street Distillery will offer an American football merch pack to the first 100 people in American football gear on Sept. 27 and 28.
In addition, Jameson will partner with complex to release what it describes as “the first-ever limited-edition, football-inspired capsule collection.” The partnership will also deliver New York City-based “tailgating” events featuring cocktails, food, entertainment and exclusive merch. A Los Angeles event will also be held at a later date.
Finally, Jameson will be the first spirits brand to be promoted in a live commercial on ESPN’s “Sportscenter.”
