Complex UK reported that Anderson .Paak and Jameson are joining forces to search for 20 international musical artists to partake in the ultimate jam session at Jameson’s Sound Distillery in Cook, Ireland.
The program is called the “Distilled Sounds” program, and the Irish whiskey brand tapped the “Come Down” singer to help find musicians from all over the world and bring them to Ireland as part of a program to make music at the distillery.
“I’m going to be meeting, teaching and supporting a load of great artists and cannot wait to share what we make,”.Paak said, according to Complex UK. “It’s all about the connection man! Countries around the world have such exciting music scenes, you really want to bring them together and create something new, for the fans. Who knows – we may create a new genre! The Sound Distillery is like nothing I’ve ever done before — I cannot wait to get started.”
.Paak and Jameson are taking a truly global approach and intend to look for talented artists from India, Europe, Malaysia and South Africa. Both brands intend to bring these artists from all over the world together and see what kind of musical blend transpires.
“The Sound Distillery will enable artists from across the globe to get in a room together to unlock the magic of connection,” .Paak shared. “The connection and energy needed for song writing is best served face to face, so we’ll be bringing artists from across the world to Ireland, where they’ll engage in a week’s worth of creativity, jamming and making new music in our Sound Distillery.”
The Irish whiskey brand created a short film to promote the initiative, and Anderson brought out his “alter ego,” DJ Pee .Wee during a spot at a fictional radio station JJ Smoove 178.0 to chat about the global search for artists everywhere. The video can be viewed below:
